Neonatal Ward visit

Yesterday we delivered a lovely donation from a friend (name not included) of Virginia & Richard at Scrapbooking Supplies - a beautiful blanket and 2 pair of booties. They were thrilled to accept as these are beautiful work and all donations are accepted with gratitude.

We talked over old times. Quite a few people remembered Amelie and they were thrilled to hear how well she is doing. Lisa was volunteered to be our photographic subject. Thanks Lisa!

You can always help out by donating handmade cards to the unit too. They love to give birthday and every occasion cards to parents whose child is in there during these occassions to help lift mum or dad's spirits.

Caron Gamble and Julie Richardson both sent us cards all the way from Tassie to be part of our day and I hope they think this is a great destination for their craft. Their cards will be going to help support the spirit of a premmie or seriously ill baby's parent. What a nice way to help someone else!

If you'd like to help out too send cards to the Grantley Neonatal Ward at the Royal Brisbane Women's Hospital.

See you Saturday,

It's a big weekend for Lindy, Sharon and me plus my sister Belinda (Amelie's mum). We are packing your goodie bags and sorting out all the wonderful prizes and sale items for the big day.

Maybe this weekend you can think about getting your self prepared too? I hope that last blog entry & email spurred you into thinking about a bit of organising yourself for the creativity & fun.

We have guidelines for the day -
  • Relax, smile & have fun
  • Enjoy the supportive atmosphere
  • Be part of the spirit of the day
  • Know you are contributing to a wonderful cause

Hope you can cope with those! See you very soon...

A suggestion...

Think about what projects you’d like to play with on the day BEFORE THE DAY.
Maybe put the ideas, photos, papers and card together that might work. Take some of your fave embellishments eg.flowers, ribbon etc

Remember there is no big shop just some emergency items so being prepared makes your day easier and possibly more productive if that is important to you.

Lastly...on the day

Please introduce yourself. We are looking forward to meeting you!
If you have a question on the day ask Jane, Sharon, Lindy or Belinda. We’ll have name tags.

We’ve provided time, food and opportunity for you to relax in a creative & supportive atmosphere. Please come to enjoy yourself & meet other like-minded people.
Cheers,
Jane, Lindy & Sharon

Missing in Action

I had to tell you that Julie Cottrell at A2Z Scraplets sent us a boxful of goodies. The first box went walkabout. Somewhere someone is opening a box and thinking "yay!" if they are crafty and "what?!" if they aren't.

Julie and we gals were very disappointed about this, but bless her generous heart Julie decided to remake her donations for us, gifting each of us with a special corner scraplet and accent plus sending over a dozen things for prizes. Take THAT you thief!

I think the A2Z blog is a great place to look at ideas for using the scraplets and it also has a list of suppliers who carry this range www.a2zscraplets.typepad.com/. I have included a photo of some of the donations. The corner words and flower is yours on the day!

Not long now!

Thanks to our donors...

Thank you so much to all those people and companies that have so kindly donated to our charity event. We truly appreciate your kindness.

SPAR Deception Bay, Gloria Jean's Coffee Burpengary (gift) and Phelan's Bakery are the only food businesses that have said yes to our request for help.

Yes, food is a big part of the day so we will continue to ask for support. All items donated help raise the money we can give for research and equipment for premmies and seriously ill babies. If you know a business that might donate food stuffs please let us know by contacting Jane at livelovelife42@y7mail.com or on 0424278273.

Here's an updated picture of a sample of the lovely donations...
It's going to be a great day!
